Since making one’s own clothes have been becoming the trend recently, I thought I’d take a stab at knitting once again! Another knit beginner friendly pattern on the Yarnalina blog–the easy knit beginner crop top!
Inspiration & Description & Process
After my crochet cropped sweater vest pattern + video had great success on Youtube and my blog, I decided that I should make another classic crop top! The yarn was also provided to me through yarn support from the Lion Brand, and I had used the same yarn for the sweater vest!
This project really took me no time at all to finish quickly as it’s made up of a single rectangle and sewed together as I did with this knit beanie. It only consists of knits and purls, so it’s perfect for any beginners in knitting if they want to try out knitting!
It’s funny because I didn’t realize that I had used the exact same stitch as I did for the beanie until I began writing this easy knit crop top pattern haha!
Most patterns that end up being posted on the Yarnalina blog have been through at least five errors as I try to create a project that I truly like and perfect it before presenting it all to you guys! So I’m happy that this was simple enough of a project, since the hard part was more of getting the number of stitches right.
The stitch count for all the sizes is simply just a reference for you, because everyone has different body types and sizes. So taper with the number of stitches and rows to fit to yourself!
Remember to Share this Post to your fellow crocheter friends!
The straps were incredibly easy to make as it’s simply just wrapping strands around each other. Though you could easily swap it out for a long chain of single crochets if you’d like.
I made the easy knit crop top really fitting / snug to the body, and I wrote the pattern as that for XS – 5XL. So if you prefer a looser fit for your knit crop top, you can just add more stitches to your cast on at the beginning. Use the gauge as your reference!
While I definitely adore the pink wash of this merino wool yarn, the LB Collection Superwash Merino yarn also has gorgeous colors such as tan brown, dusty jade, and denim blue! I might’ve got some tan brown yarn in my yarn shelf right now that could turn into a pattern coming up very soon on the Yarnalina blog 😉
Without further ado, let’s get on with the free written pattern of this easy knit beginner crop top!
