Another adorable crochet amigurumi— the crochet baby penguin amigurumi is now a free pattern here available on the blog!
Inspiration & Description & Process
After the first amigurumi that I’ve posted here on Yarnalina (crochet baby platypus amigurumi), and the second flower pot amigurumi—making another amigurumi has always been on my mind. Though I love to make bigger projects such as the blankets that I’ve made, I tend to love making a cute amigurumi ever now and then!
And after some thought (+ rash purchase due to a discount XD) I decided upon my amigurumi project of a penguin. I knew that I wanted to make it on the pudgier side to make it stand on its own. The one thing that went “wrong” was the beak, I originally planned to sew it on in the assembly video. But after further examination from my sister and I, we both agreed that it can look better with a different beak.
So I changed it out with a piece (?) of single crochets, and the penguin never looked back.
I love how the penguin amigurumi turned out with it’s derpy face! Since I filmed a Youtube video tutorial to accompany this free crochet penguin amigurumi pattern, you can follow along with the exact process of how I created this exact penguin!
