My first ever crochet clothing that made it past all the trial and error — my crochet cropped ombre sweater. Also a free pattern on the blog!
Inspiration & Description & Process
I had many attempts of making a crochet clothing before, though most never made it past my indecisive mind. It was either I started to have another idea for that yarn or it just became messed up halfway. And I would frog apart hours worth of work.
But this crochet cropped ombre sweater pushed through and hence it’s appearance on my crochet blog~
I had chosen the color, Skyway, but there are many different colors like Almond, Icy Grape, Teaberry, Wild Pansy, and Quarry. My favorite color is blue {as you can see from the theme color of the blog :)}, so Skyway it was for me!

Assembly
Lay the two body panels folded side by side, with the RS facing up.
Sew the front and back together at the center using a spare piece of yarn thread on your tapestry needle.
For reference I had sewn 14″ (35cm) at the front and 16.5″ (42cm) at the back. Leaving a neck hole in the center, though remember to try on your sweater and alter the depth of the V-neck as desired.
Fold and sew the sleeves together with the RS facing out, including the cuffs.
Then lay both sleeves perpendicular to the shoulders and sew it together with the body panels. And use another spare piece of yarn to sew the outside of the body panel (underneath the sleeves) for both sides.
Sweater Ribbing
With your 5mm crochet hook, loop your slip knot onto the edge of the sweater and chain 10 (12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22)
Row 1 : Sc into the 2nd st, sc in each st until the end, and sl into two separate stitches on the bottom edge of the sweater (to attach the ribbing on). Turn <9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21>
Row 2 : Bl sc in the 1st and to the end, ch1, turn <9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21>
Repeat Row 2 until Row 138 (140,142, 144, 146, 148, 150). <9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21>
Sl the gap between the beginning chain and your last row together and fasten off.
